National Parks are special places untouched by the harsh touches of humanity and there are plenty of such places in South Korea. The National Parks are an important part of the Korean Tourism and is instrumental in promoting the country's natural wealth. Many of the National Parks in South Korea are part of a famous mountain range and the Jirisan National Park in South Korea shares the same geographical feature. Among the three most important mountain ranges in South Korea, Jirisan is the prime one. The other two mountains are Hallasan and Seoraksan.
Features of Jirisan National Park in South Korea
- The Jirisan National Park is home to the Jirisan Mountain which has a height of 1,915 meters and is one of the magnificent peaks in the country.
- The National Park is rated the best and the largest in entire South Korea. The Jirisan National Park covers an area comprising three provinces- North, South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang. A major chunk of the Jirisan National Park lies in the province of South Gyeongsang. Cheonhwangbong, the highest peak of the Jirisan mountain Range lies in this province. The Peak of Three Spirits named Samsinbong is the other peak in the same province.
- Seven Buddhist temples are located in the Jirisan National Park in South Korea. Among the seven of them, Hwaeomsa is the most well known. The Buddhist Temple is not only an important part of Korea's religious life but is the store house of immense wealth and is frequented in large numbers.
- A site popularly known as the place of the Three Sages is another tourist attraction in the Jirisan National Park. The site is enlisted by the name of Samseonggung. The place is a part of a recent construction, built to celebrate one of the foundation myths of Korea.
